Hello Tom,
I have a problem using AmigaAMP (all versions) the program work very good on UAE (AmigaOS 3.1 on WinUAE), but when i try to increase or lowering the volume directly on the program the sound it becomes very bad.
I try to change the AHI prefs in real time (when i listening my MP3's), but nothing change and force me to reboot AmigaAMP if i want to listening the audio correctly
So if a want increase or lowering the volume i must use my speakerset _________________ BACK FOR THE FUTURE

Hi!
I haven't used WinUAE for some time so I just downloaded Version 0.992, feeded it with my Kickstart 40.70 ROM file and installed OS 3.9, AHI and the latest AHI drivers that came with WinUAE 0.992. So currently I have:
Kickstart 40.70, Workbench 45.1
ahi.device 5.42 (28.07.2003)
uae.audio 4.4 (11.08.2004)
It works fine! I can change the volume in AmigaAMP using the volume slider and all goes well.
How does it sound like when you try it? Is it interrupted/jumping or distorted?

Hello Tom, thanks for your generous help
I have installed Amiga Forever 6.0 (with AmigaOS 3.1 preinstalled), so this is my actual general configuration
AmigaOS 3.1
Kickstart 45.57, Workbench 45.3
ahi.device 5.33 (12.04.03)
uae.audio 4.3 (22.5.02)
As i told you before when i try to change the volume directly from the program, my sound become distorted and force me to close and re-open AmigaAMP to listen correctly the music, yes i know this is an old configuration but if you can solve this problem in the next release ....
Again thanks in advance for your hard work _________________ BACK FOR THE FUTURE

Hope can help you to undestand the problem

Ok, now I've tried Amiga Forever 6.0 with WinUAE updated to 0.8.27. I'm running the included AmigaOS 3.1 installation.
First of all I opened Prefs/AHI and set every unit to UAE:16 bit HIFI Stereo++ with 44100 Hz.
Then I installed AmigaAMP 2.14 and left its prefs at default.
When I'm now playing an MP3 with it I can change the volume without any problems. Ok, I get heavy clipping if I go above 0.0dB but that's gone again if I reduce the volume to 0.0dB or lower.
I guess it's not AmigaAMP's fault so there's nothing I can do at the moment. All it does is tell the AHI driver which volume to use. The rest is up to the driver and the soundsystem behind it.

Ok, thanks for your explain now in the Prefs/AHI i set 44100 Mhz (before it was 17640 Mhz), now the sound it seems little better altrough as you told me i must set the volume above or equal to 0.0DB
I don't know, maybe this is an emulation problem, my sound card work fine on my "normal use"
I also think that the problem is my old uae.audio, how is the performnce on WinUAE 0.9.92 ?
Aniway thanks for your help _________________ BACK FOR THE FUTURE

Erm, no, the other way round: The volume must be below or equal to 0.0 dB.
I don't know if the uae.audio that came with the latest WinUAE version is really better. Both work fine on my PC but it's a 2.4 GHz P4.
And in general: It's best to set the AHI mixing frequency in AHI-Prefs to 44100 Hz because that's the value that most of the MP3s out there have.
If you use any other value and still try to play 44100 Hz MP3s then AHI has to do resampling in realtime which (a) eats up more cpu power and (b) makes the sound worse.

Mmm, ok thanks I will keep in mind, when you think to release a new AmigaAMP version ? _________________ BACK FOR THE FUTURE
